The exhibition " KEO Prelude to its flight " is presented at the Civilization Museum in Quebec city (Canada) from the 8th septembre 2001 to the 9th January 2003 as part of the French Season in Quebec.

This prestigious exhibition has been made possible thank to the town of the Ulis (France), the Museum of Civilization, the Museum of Louvre, France/Quebec Organization Comitte, Snecma Motor, Arianespace and The General Council of Essonne (France).

7 different rooms can be seen : 1) The entrance that present the concept of KEO, 2) The technical room which shows the technical tools that allow KEO to be launched, 3) The main KEO room which explains the whole project and remind us the beauty of the human specie, 4) The historical room that remind us that our ancestors left us trace of their writing, 5) The room to send messages to KEO throught its website, 6) The room dedicated to the partners that made this incredible adventure possible, 7) The exit that thanks our partners.

Canada 1: The entrance of the exhibition presenting the concept of KEO in the foreground and the sphere of KEO in the background in front of the Vulcain motor of the Ariane rocket that will launch KEO produced by Snecma. This motor assures the high performance of Arinane 5's Principal Floor of Cryotechnique.

Canada 2 : At the foreground, a model of KEO at its return on the Earth and in the background the room that shows the technical tools which will permit to launch KEO.

Canada 3 : Motor Vulcain in the foreground with the family of the Ariane Rocket that will launch KEO.

Canada 9 : Exit from the main KEO room to the historical room dedicated to the original pieces of Art which has been lend by the Louvre Museum. The Statue of a scribe sitting in a crossed-legged position (13th - 12 th century B.C) can be seen on the left.

Canada 10 : In the background, the origin of writing (Circa, 3300 B.C) - Near Eastern Antiquities with other pre-cuneiform administrative tablets. In the foreground, the statue representing Goudea, the Prince of the Sumerian State of Lagash (22th B.C. The legend says that he was the creator of the writing.

Canada 12 : Left view the sarcophage of Udjahor (3rd century B.C). Its massive size, the enormous face sunk between the shoulders along with the finesses of the decorative engraving are typical of this period.

Canada 13 : Foreground view of the lid of the Sarcophagus of Pami. He was priest of the god Amon in Thebes during the 22nd dynasty. Only the lid of this sarcophagus remains, decorated with the usual scenes found on coffins during this area.
